                 Dynastic Cycle
                          is an important political theory in Chinese history. According to this theory, every dynasty goes through a culture cycle. It is also the rise and fall of dynasties.

  •  Let's proceed to the different Dynasties in China
CHINA DYNASTIES

1. Hsia or Xia (2070-1600 BC)- is the first dynasty in China to be described in ancient historical chronicles such as Bamboo Annals, Classic of History and Records of the Grand Historian.
  •  Founder:
           Yu the Great (2200 - 2100 BC)- was a legendary ruler in Ancient China famed for his introduction of flood control, inaugurating dynastic rule in China by founding the Xia dynasty, and for his upright moral character.

2. Shang (1650 - 1050 BC) - this Bronze Age civilization is known for its skillfull metalwork and for the emergence of the first Chinese writing
  •  Founder:
             Tang the Great(1617-1588 BC.)- was the first king of the Shang dynasty in Chinese history. He fought Jie, the last king of the Xia dynasty.

3. Zhou or Chou (1050 - 250 BC.)- the longest dynasty, lasting 800 years. Confucius looked back on the early years of the Zhou dynasty as a Golden Age
  • Founder:
           King Wu- was the first king of the Zhou dynasty of ancient China.

4.  Qin or Chin (221 - 207 BC.) - China's shortest dynasty lasted less than 20 years.
  • Founder:
          Qin Shi Huang (260–210 BC)- personal name Zheng, was the King of the state of Qin (246–221 BC) who conquered all other Warring States by and united China in 221 BC.

5. Han (221 - 207 BC.)- was an imperial dynasty of China, preceded by the Qin dynasty (221–207 BC) and succeeded by the Three Kingdoms (220–280 AD).
  • Founder:
Liu Bang (256 BC or 247 BC)- was the founder and first emperor of the Han dynasty.

6. Tang dynasty (618–907 AD)-  was an imperial dynasty of China preceded by the Sui dynasty and followed by the Five Dynasties and Ten Kingdoms period. It was founded by the Li family
  • Founder: 
    Emperor Gaozu of Tang (566 – 25 June 635)- born Li Yuan was the founder of the Tang Dynasty of China, and the first emperor of this dynasty from 618 to 626.

7. Sung dynasty (960 - 1279 AD)- was an era of Chinese history that began in 960 and continued until 1279. 
  •  Founder:
 Zhao Kuang-yin(960-976)-  known to history as Song Tai Zu, was the first emperor of the Sung Dynasty, which was to last over 300 years.

8. Yuan (1280 - 1363 AD)- the Great Yuan Great Mongol, was the empire established by Kublai Khan, leader of the Mongolian Borjigin clan.

9. Ming (1368–1644)-  also Empire of the Great Ming, was the ruling dynasty of China for 276 years
following the collapse of the Mongol-led Yuan dynasty. The Ming, described by some as "one of the greatest eras of orderly government and social stability in human history," was the last dynasty in China ruled by ethnic Han Chinese.
  • Founder:
Zhu Yuanzhang- officially proclaimed himself emperor in Yingtian and founded the Ming Dynasty.

10. Ching or Manchu (1644-1911)- was the last imperial dynasty in China. It was founded by the non-Chinese people of the Manchus who originally lived in the northeast, a region later called Manchuria.
